Ergonomic Babywearing for You and Your Baby

The best thing about an ergonomic baby carrier is how it supports healthy development, holding the spine, hips, and neck in just the right way to keep your baby safe and comfy as they grow. But even tiny babies can feel surprisingly heavy after a while, which is why a good carrier should be comfortable for the wearer, too. A good carrier is designed to relieve pressure so you don’t feel any strain on your back or shoulders. It’s all about finding a baby carrier that supports both you and your baby.

Carriers that fit many different body sizes

All BabyBjörn baby carriers have a unisex design and fit a wide range of sizes, from XS to XXL, making them easy to adjust to most body types. This means you and your partner can share one carrier effortlessly—a quick adjustment is all it takes to fit whoever’s on baby duty!

How to Adapt the Baby Carrier to Your Needs

Our baby carriers are super easy to adjust so you can get the perfect fit for your body and comfort. Just a few tweaks, and you’ll be all set to carry your little one comfortably and ergonomically! Here are all the ways you can customize the fit and adjust as you go.

Adjustable as Your Baby Grows

Our baby carriers are all about making sure your little one is comfy and supported as they grow. The zippers on Harmony let you adjust the seat width, providing your baby with a flexible leg position that allows plenty of room for movement. On Mini, the handy size adjustment makes it easy to adjust the height as your newborn grows.

Adjustable Back Cross/Back Yoke

The back cross on Mini (back yoke on Harmony) makes it easy for you to get the perfect fit. For maximum comfort, simply adjust the back cross so it sits just below your shoulder blades.

Adjustable Shoulder Straps

Many of our carriers come with padded shoulder straps for extra comfort, and the easy-to-pull straps allow you to adjust the baby carrier to your needs. Reduce the load on your shoulders simply by lifting the outer edges of the adjuster buckles and finding a setting that feels best for your shoulders and back.

Adjustable Waist Belt

With the adjustable waist belt you can easily distribute your child’s weight more evenly, so your little one stays close to your body while giving your back and shoulders some much-needed relief. The higher you place the waist belt, the higher your baby will sit.

Babywearing Checklist

Baby Carrier Harmony in Light pink woven mélange - BabyBjörn
  • First and foremost, make sure your baby’s airways are always free.

  • Double-check that all the buckles are securely fastened. Every buckle on our baby carriers is designed to make a clicking sound so you hear that they are properly closed.

  • Carry your baby close to your body with their head close to your chin. A good rule of thumb is that they should be close enough for you to kiss the top of their head.

  • Don’t dress your baby too warmly in the baby carrier, as they will also receive heat from you.

  • If you need to bend down, bend at the knee so your baby remains in an upright position.
