BabyBjörn presents innovative products for the home at Kind + Jugend 2010
A big hit in the kitchen with the little ones
Solna, September 2010. Children are inquisitive and eager to learn, so they always want to be part of it when something exciting is going on around them. They love to try things out for themselves and emulate mum and dad – even if it doesn’t always work out.
BabyBjörn’s goal is to simplify everyday activities for parents with small children and to promote children’s development and independence, so the family-owned, Swedish company is expanding its Kitchen line and presenting two innovative products at the Kind + Jugend international trade fair in Cologne: the new BABYBJÖRN High Chair and the BABYBJÖRN Cup.
BABYBJÖRN High Chair – safe & comfortable
Whether it’s in the kitchen or at the dining table – the smallest members of the family are safe and secure in the BABYBJÖRN High Chair. In the high chair they are able to see at eye level the exciting things going on around them and to take an active part in family life. Thanks to its smooth design with a curved backrest and a foldable safety table, the high chair provides a comfortable seat both for babies who are still learning to sit upright as well as for older children. The safety table can be individually adjusted to fit the child and also acts as a safety lock: it holds the child securely in the high chair and prevents them from climbing out. The two-step safety lock ensures that the child cannot open or close the high chair itself, as well as preventing the high chair from accidentally folding up into the transport position. The safety table tray is simple to remove for effortless cleaning of spilt liquids and food. The BABYBJÖRN High Chair weighs only 5 kg and is simple to fold away. It has been developed in close collaboration with paediatricians and industrial designers as well as parents and children, and can be used from the age of six months up to approximately two years of age (max. height 95 cm).
BABYBJÖRN Cup – all well in hand!
With the new BABYBJÖRN Cup little ones learn very quickly to drink from an open glass on their own – just like mum and dad. Thanks to its well-conceived design and soft, distinct lines the cup is easy to grip and hold with small hands as they learn to drink. The cup’s low centre of gravity and wide base with a rubber strip on the bottom keep the cup firmly on the table – even if the child knocks it by accident. The cup holds 100 ml and can therefore not only be used for drinks, but also for small portions of baby food or purée. The inside is rounded at the base to suit the design of the BABYBJÖRN Spoon. The BABYBJÖRN Cup can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher and is suitable for use in both the microwave and the freezer. It is food-safe, made of recyclable plastics (PP and TPE) and contains no BPA and phthalates. The cup can be used from the age of approximately eight months and like all BabyBjörn products has been developed in close collaboration with paediatricians and industrial designers as well as with parents and children.
